I am a philosopher and classicist. During the academic year I am a lecturer at Loyola Marymount University, and every summer I teach at the CUNY Latin/Greek Institute.

Our lives are filled with ethical questions. My teaching and research are motivated above all by a concern for (i) how we should inquire into such questions, and (ii) how our answers can help us live better. For insight into these issues, I draw  upon  ancient philosophy and the phenomenological tradition it has heavily influenced.
